Warning -- Internet Viruses
Maui Gateway strongly recommends anti-virus software for all users. Customers currently enjoy Email virus protection on Maui Gateway's Email server, free of charge. However, viruses can infect systems a variety of ways including commercial software, browsing to certain websites, or just being connected to the Internet. Users will also want to be aware of Virus Hoaxes which are inadvertently passed along by well-meaning friends and family members.

Two of the more popular commercial anti-virus programs available are Norton Anti-Virus and McAfee VirusScan. There are also some free anti-virus programs available such as AVG Anti-Virus and Avast! which some users may also want to consider. Because new viruses are found practically every day, the most important feature to remember is to ensure the anti-virus software is updated on a regular basis.

Two popular programs useful to help remove spyware from computers are Spybot Search & Destroy and Ad-aware. Both are free to download and use.
